| Bio: | I am a graduate student, studying metaphysics and feminist philosophy, though not together. The focus of my research is the metaphysics of fictional characters, and I have the eventual goal of making sense of our relationship to virtual realities and the effect that has our our relationship to reality. However, I think I'll need to be at a less purely analytic school than I currently attend, to make that exploration fruitful, or I'll need to learn a lot more cognitive science and philosophy of mind than I currently know. For now, I'm looking at the puzzles surrounding fiction through an purely analytic lens, working out the optimal metaphysical view of the objects of literary theory. In my off-time, I am a puppeteer, primarily engaged in performing short fairy tales that incorporate the arguments of my favorite feminist theorists. I also walk on stilts, play accordion in several bands, write middling sonnets,run long-distance and somehow also manage to carry on a long-distance relationship. Eventually, I would like to read at least all the books I own, but I am slowly giving that goal up, as I continue to get more books and to have fewer years left to live. Nonetheless, I feel optimistic about the future. | ||||||||||
